Linx VR Training

Immersive safety and operational training platform

We designed and delivered a VR-based training system for Linx Cargo Care Group, enabling employees to safely experience high-risk operational scenarios before entering the field.

Built on the Curiious IQ platform, the system supports scalable, facilitator-led training across bulk and car operations.

The opportunity

Traditional training methods — PowerPoints, manuals and classroom sessions — often fail to prepare workers for real-world hazards. Exposure to high-risk situations is limited, and knowledge retention can be low.

There was an opportunity to use VR to provide safe, repeatable access to dangerous scenarios, improving preparedness without real-world risk.

The system

  • VR training application built on the Curiious IQ platform

  • Scenario-based simulation library for operational hazards

  • Multi-user training system supporting cohort sessions (up to ~15 users)

  • Facilitator control layer with pause, playback and annotation tools

  • Offline-first deployment model for use in remote or on-site environments

  • Portable hardware kit for easy transport and setup

  • Analytics and assessment tracking system for training progress

  • Real-time session synchronisation across users

Highlights

  • 71% increase in hazards reported

  • 90% increase in near misses reported

  • 32% increase in safety engagements conducted

  • 40% reduction in high-severity incidents

  • 50% reduction in HRI & SSI incidents

  • Enables safe exposure to high-risk operational scenarios

  • Improves retention through hands-on, repeatable training

  • Scales across teams and locations with consistent delivery

  • Award-winning safety innovation in the maritime industry
